Who We Are

Our Mission

To open digital experiences to everyone by combining deep accessibility expertise with practical UX, design, and technical guidance.

Accessibility isn’t just about compliance—it’s about dignity, usability, and doing the right thing. We believe accessible design makes products better for all users.

We Are Led By Jason Sprague: Founder & Principal Accessibility Consultant.

Aperio Accessibility Consulting is led by Jason Sprague, an accessibility specialist and UX leader with 15+ years of experience designing, auditing, and governing large-scale digital platforms.

Jason has led accessibility and UX initiatives for enterprise organizations, healthcare systems, and regulated industries, helping teams meet WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, and Section 508 requirements while improving overall usability and design quality.

His background uniquely blends:

  • Accessibility strategy and governance

  • UX and product design leadership

  • Design systems and component libraries

  • Enterprise-scale audits and remediation programs

  • Developer and designer training

  • Compliance documentation and reporting

This combination allows Aperio to deliver accessibility work that is both technically accurate and practically implementable.

Enterprise & Healthcare Experience

Jason’s experience includes leading accessibility and UX efforts at organizations such as:

  • BlackRock – supporting accessibility governance, large-scale digital platforms, and internal design systems

  • St. Luke’s University Health Network – improving accessibility across healthcare digital experiences, patient-facing platforms, and internal tools

  • O3 World – consulting on UX, accessibility, and compliance for enterprise clients

  • Additional work across finance, healthcare, education, SaaS, and public-sector environments

This experience informs how Aperio approaches every engagement—with an understanding of real-world constraints, timelines, and risk.

What Makes Aperio Different

Accessibility + UX, Not Just Checklists

Many accessibility audits stop at issue lists. We go further by connecting WCAG requirements to real UX patterns, design systems, and code-level solutions.

Manual, Human-Led Audits

We don’t rely on overlays or automated tools alone. Our audits include screen reader testing, keyboard-only navigation, and manual WCAG analysis.

Clear, Actionable Guidance

Every finding includes:

  • What’s wrong

  • Who it impacts

  • Why it matters

  • How to fix it (clearly and realistically)

Built for Teams

We work collaboratively with designers, developers, product managers, legal teams, and leadership to ensure accessibility is sustainable—not a one-time fix.

Who We Serve

  • Small and mid-sized businesses

  • Healthcare organizations

  • Law firms

  • Nonprofits

  • Educational institutions

  • SaaS and product teams

  • Government and public-sector entities

Whether you need a one-time audit or long-term accessibility support, we meet you where you are.

Our Approach

  1. Evaluate – Manual WCAG audits and accessibility testing

  2. Explain – Clear reporting without jargon

  3. Remediate – Practical guidance and hands-on support

  4. Validate – Re-testing and verification

  5. Enable – Training and governance to prevent regressions

Accessibility is a process, not a checkbox—and we help you build it into your workflow.

Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • WCAG 2.1 and 2.2 Level AA standards

  • Inclusive, human-centered design

  • Transparency and education

  • Ethical accessibility practices

  • Continuous improvement
